Rare Welsh Mormon Publications
During the entire month of September 2008 the L. Tom Perry Special Collections will host an exhibition of rare Welsh Mormon publications authored or translated by Welsh convert John Davis. The exhibit, located in the foyer of Special Collections on level 1 of the Harold B. Lee Library, affords an opportunity for all interested to examine the early church publications (in the Welsh language) that profoundly impacted the Latter-day Saint community in Wales. The Library is pleased to honor John Davis for his remarkable accomplishments as a printer and publisher of Welsh Mormon scriptures, periodicals (including Udgorn Seion or Zion’s Trumpet), doctrinal pamphlets, hymnals, and broadsides. Many of Davis’s publications are exhibited and a brief video about his life and work may be viewed.
