Parley A. Christensen, ca. 1964.

Parley Alma Christensen (1888-1968) was a faculty member in the English Department at Brigham Young University from 1927 to 1964. He served as chair of the English Department for twenty five years. He also chaired the University Athletic Committee for twenty years.

The University Archives holds several collections useful for studying the contribution of Parley A. Christensen to Brigham Young University. They include:

  • MSS 6039 Parley Alma Christensen papers, 1911-1977. Collection contains the personal and professional papers of Parley Alma Christensen. It contains items such as his research materials, personal correspondence, papers from his travels around Europe, newspaper articles about Christensen and his work, and a Xerox copy of his father’s, Mads Christensen, autobiography.
  • UA 909 Faculty biographical records, 1900-2000. Contains biographical information on members of the BYU faculty, administration, and board of trustees.
