It’s officially six weeks until Christmas….

At Special Collections, we’re already getting into the holiday spirit. Our latest small exhibit is “Rising to the Occasion: Crafting Christmas with the Victorian Middle Class.” Students in the English MA program have put together a display showing how the Victorians celebrated Christmas and how commercialism and celebration went hand-in-hand, even back then. Highlights include first editions of Charles Dickens’ Christmas books and original carols, holiday games, and cookbooks from Victorian England.
